Our Family Support Centers welcome members of the community on a walk-in basis and provides information, referrals, and other services.

​

The Family Support Center Program is funded by the Department of Developmental Services (DDS). DDS provides children and adults with developmental disabilities and their families support, information, and the tools to envision a life lived to the fullest. CENTRO offers this program to all DDS eligible individuals. We specialize our services toward multicultural and diverse families in the communities of Worcester County.

Information and Referrals 

Our Family Support Center provides information regarding all the resources available at CENTRO as well as resources available in their local community in order to help improve the family’s quality of life.

Navigation

Families with intense needs are assisted on a one-on-one level to ensure access to all resources and services available in the community for the individual. We provide both short-term navigation, and long-term navigation depending on the needs and the individual circumstances. Families are partnered with a friendly and culturally aware navigator from our qualified staff.

Monthly Calendar 

The Family Support Center offers a monthly calendar full of activities that offer recreation, education, information, and special events for DDS clients. Our activities and events are always presented in a way that accommodates to different scheduling needs, in an appropriate environment that provides accessibility and participation for all.

Transition 

Individuals that are in the process of transition into adulthood based on the DDS standards, receive support and wrap-around services which helps families coordinate between school services, day programs, employment, and other agencies involved.

Other Services 

Through our program, families also have access to flexible funding available through DDS, respite services, state-wide trainings, and many other resources. Depending on the area being served, families can also have access to the services offered by other programs at CENTRO such as the Emergency Food Pantry, Children Behavioral Health Initiative (CBHI), Adult Family Care (AFC), and others.
