President’s Message | Saturday, August 18, 2018

It’s incredible that I can remember the first Latin-American Festival held in Worcester, in 1991; and today we celebrate the 28th festival.  It truly seems like yesterday.

We thank God for all of the years of culture, family, fun, and memories, this festival has provided.  We welcome you once again, to New England’s best celebration of Latino art, culture, and cuisine.  We know you will have a great time.

This year we have a greater emphasis on children and families.  We continue to work with our food vendors to provide healthier, more affordable, culturally tailored meal options.  We continue our commitment to provide a diverse, more representative display of Latin-American art and culture.  To this end, please do not miss our tribute to Venezuela and our salute to Puerto Rico; as both nations deal with the struggles of severe political, civic and economic challenges.

Further, we wish to extend our warmest appreciation to the 2018 Latin-American Festival planners, our many volunteers, our city’s Police department and parks department, for their dedication and commitment to making this the best festival ever.

We thank you for your many years of support, for this important community celebration, and look forward to seeing you on the grounds of City Hall Plaza, today.

Be blessed!
